In this video we review partner inspections, which occurs after the climber has tied into the rope and the belayer has clipped the rope into the belay device.
The belayer will check the climber to make sure that:
1. Harness is properly above the waist
2. Harness is two fingers tight
3. Harness is properly double backed
4. Rope is properly through the 2 hardpoints
5. There are 5 sets of two’s in the figure-eight knot, and at least 2 fists of tail.
Next the climber will check the belayer to make sure that:
1. Harness is properly above the waist
2. Harness is two fingers tight
3. Harness is properly double backed
4. Carabiner is properly through the belay loop and locked
5. Rope is through the belay device and the carabiner, and device is oriented properly.
